Did you realise that as well as the month and star sign you were born under your moon phase is relevant to your personality too. If you think about it - the moon is the first energy you are exposed to when you are born so it's influence and phase can have a huge affect on your life's journey.

First thing to understand is whether our natal moon is in a waxing or waning phase. We can determine this by whether the moon appears in front of or behind the sun in our natal chart. Each phase lasts 45º.
Waxing Phase
Starts at the moon/sun conjunction which is New Moon. As the moon moves TOWARDS being full it is waxing (getting fuller). This energy in itself is that of movement and expansion. Somebody born in a waxing phase moon is searching for new experiences - seeking adventure or knowledge.
New Moon: 0 – 45º ahead of the Sun
Crescent: 45 – 90º ahead of the Sun
First Quarter: 90 – 135º ahead of the Sun
Gibbous: 135 – 180º ahead of the Sun
Waning Phase
Starts at full moon when the sun and moon are at opposition in the chart. This will decrease light over time to move towards new moon. If you have a waning moon you may have a strong inner sense of self. You may even have pearls of wisdom which you often give to others freely.
Full Moon: 180 – 135º behind the Sun
Disseminating: 135 – 90º behind the Sun
Last Quarter: 90 – 45º behind the Sun
Balsamic: 45 – 0º behind the Sun

New Moon
0-45º ahead of SUN.
Every day is a new day. You relinquish your inner child and retain your newness and excitement for life (like a newborn). You have an excitement for life and amazing enthusiasm. Your personality shines. You are full of new ideas and these can spill out quickly when you are on a roll. You may be impulsive and act on instinct without thinking things through.
